Pacific Coast Highway America's Most Beautiful Drive?

3 dead as 10 cars crash on PCH in Newport Beach

Authorities say three people were killed in a pileup involving 10 vehicles on Pacific Coast Highway in Orange County. Newport Beach Fire Department Deputy Chief Ralph Restadius tells the Orange County Register that three others were hospitalized in the Saturday afternoon crash, one of them in critical condition.

Several Newport Beach fire and police units were at the scene, where two cars were overturned at the corner of PCH and Riverside and some people were trapped inside their vehicles.

Authorities said the highway remained closed hours after the accident and was likely to be shut down through the night.
